FAQ's

1. What is QuickMaths ?

QuicKMaths...as the name goes, is a collection of the best known (and lot of unknown) methods of quickening up your calculation skills. QuicK is a web based software application based on EduClub’s research on methods and techniques to perform high speed calculations. QuicK's design keeps the learning process simple and interesting. QuicK will really boost your number crunching capability, allowing you to come up with answers at amazing speeds. Quick is an interactive method of mastering the art of calculating FAST ... REAL FAST...using the methods re-engineered or developed by EduClub’s math team.

2. What are the costs involved ?
QuicK is moderately priced at 28$ per subscription. Once you pay up, our system will be emailing you a unique username (your emailid) and password, through which you can login into the QuicK learning engine. Once you login you will have access to all the methods which are a part of Quick in a very systematic and organized manner. The validity of the subscription is 90 days, owing to the fact that in most of the cases 3 months is a good enough time to complete the courseware.

3. Tell me more about EduClub.
EduClub is the parent organization which has developed the QuicKMaths program. EduClub was incorporated in 2004 with a vision to focus on transformational alternative skill development in interested learners. As a start, EduClub tied-up with ALOHA - a Malaysian organization working on abacus based mental arithmetic system. EduClub gradually steered into content creation. Several programs on maths, language, art, handwriting improvement etc. were designed and have been implemented successfully at the learning centers partnered/supported/owned by EduClub. QuickMaths.com is an online version of the classroom based program : QuicK , developed by EduClub. At EduClub QuicK falls under the parent project called MLogiQ : which stands for Maths, Logic and IQ.

4. What is the origin of QuicK ?
The idea of QuicK originated from the need of organizing all the good work done by lots of known and unknown math enthusiasts across the world. The seed of QuicKMaths was sown way back in 2004 when EduClub had a tie-up with ALOHA: an organization into mental arithmetic based on Abacus System. ALOHA is a Malaysian organization and has done great job in the field of developing and popularizing Abacus based mental arithmetic system. EduClub team was amazed by what results could be achieved by the Abacus system. After getting to the roots of the Abacus system, we started our journey of exploring the world of mental and speed calculations, which led us to discover a whole new world of lot of semi-organized work done by lot of people world over. We got a small team in place, comprising of like-minded-math loving people, and started studying all that was available on/off shelf. We realized that a lot of work in the area of speed calculations has already been done worldwide. Popular as mental or speed arithmetic, some of the world’s most popular techniques of boosting one’s calculation skills are a) Abacus System (Chinese) b) Vedic Math System (Indian) c) Trachtenberg System (Ukranian) d) Bill Handley System (Australian) e) G. Kelly System Over and above the work done by these people, lot more unorganized work is available on the World Wide Web and other amateur math enthusiasts. We felt that what was missing was a comprehensive solution, which was easy to learn, had the best of all methods, and was comprehendible by a common man. And so the journey of QuicK began. Here we would like to mention that QuicK was started as a part of our project called : MLogiQ : Maths, Logic and IQ. MlogiQ had 2 parts : TaSK : Thinking as a Skill QuicK : Speed calculations MLogiQ QuicK is an outcome of intense research on all the above mentioned systems. The best method for any arithmetical operation across all the systems has been incorporated into MLogiQ Quick : making it a very powerful speed calculation program, probably the best available till date.

6. How does QuicKMaths teach ?
At EduClub we understand that every learner is different, and has different preferences in learning. While a learner might like to read technical stuff, and work out on a paper, there could be someone else, who prefers to watch how-to videos, and learn. With QuicKMaths, we have tried to incorporate as many channels of learning as possible, and made the entire learning experience a blend of various strategies. For every method/technique in QuicKMaths, you will find – a) Algebraic Proof and pure mathematical stuff if you like to see what goes behind the wall. b) Teaching and concept videos which demonstrate how you can solve a sum at great speeds, using the technique listed. There could be multiple videos listed in every technique – right from concept explanation to nuances of solving. c) Interactive GreenBoard – The heart of our system – we actually thought of this because of a real life problem we faced while conducting QuicK sessions in a classroom. We realized that though theory gives clarity, and demo of some sums solved also helps, still when a student actually sits down and starts solving sums on his own, he gets stuck at several occasions, mostly owing to the fact that, all these methods and concepts are quite new to him. The Interactive GreenBoard is a web application, in which a student can put in the sum and the Board solves it out for the student, step by step. The entire solution gets solved in a fashion similar to what happens in a classroom. It’s the same thing which happens when a student asks a student that he/she is unable to solve a particular sum say – 23984/789, and wants the teacher to solve it out for him/her. The GreenBoard will solve out the sum like a teacher, showing each step as it proceeds. The student can also pause the engine at any step to think and understand. d) Assessments – Testing actually brings out the performance in many learners. The test engine of QuicKMaths, churns out random sums, for the learner to solve. There are 2 types of tests – practice tests and final assessment. Both can be taken n number of times. But the scores of practice tests are not stored in our databases. Final test scores are stored, and performance of the learner is compared with other learners of the system.

7. What future enhancements can we expect in QuicKMaths ?
QuicKMaths - has a vision to develop quick math solving techniques in all the areas of maths - like geometry, trigonometry, algebra etc. As of now QuicKMaths focuses only on the Arithmetic domain of maths - but in near future we will incorporate interesting techniques in other domains of maths as well.
